Donna Jean Sherwood

Donna Jean Sherwood, 73, of East Moline, passed away February 22, 2025, at Allure of Moline.

Cremation rites will be accorded, and no services will be held. Memorials may be made to Q.C. Paws. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family.

Donna was born on March 17, 1951, in Moline, the daughter of Syd and Eleanor Sherwood. She was previously employed as a preschool teacher in both Moline and Rock Island, retiring in 2014. Donna enjoyed going to yard sales, the movies and collecting cats as her pets. She was a voracious reader and loved going to the library. Donna adored being a grandmother.

Survivors include her daughter, Michelle “Shelly” Merritt (Michael Ptak) of Moline; granddaughter, Aubrey Merritt; great grandson, Isaiah Burrage; sister, Linda Sherwood of Arizona.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
