Doris Ann Davis, 79, of Milan, IL, died Friday, March 21, 2014, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 24, 2014, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Pleasant View Cemetery in Kewanee at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Metropolitan Youth Program.

Doris was born on February 19, 1935, in Toulon, IL, the daughter of Joseph and Dora A. (Bauer) Harrington. She graduated from Toulon High School in 1954. She married Leroy Davis in July of 1966 in Moberly, MO, and he preceded her in death in February of 1990.

Doris worked for John Deere Parts Distribution Center in Milan, IL, and retired from there after 20 years of dedicated service. She was the financial secretary of the Retiree U.A.W. Local 79. Doris kept very active even in her later years, including swimming 3 days a week. Doris was an active volunteer with Metropolitan Youth Program of the Quad Cities in Rock Island, IL, for over 9 years. She enthusiastically transported children to and from various programs and rehearsals both locally and out of town.
