Dorothea Charlotte Boom, 99, of Moline, passed away, May 2, 2025.

Per Dorothea’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Moline Memorial Park. Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd., Moline are assisting the family. Memorials may be made to a Local Pet Shelter or the Salvation Army.

Dorothea was born on February 20, 1926, in The Bronx, New York, the only child of John and Charlotte Gelomb. She married Francis “Fritz” O. Boom on June 5, 1948, at Hotel Blackhawk in Davenport, Iowa. He preceded her in death on January 6, 2006. She enjoyed ballroom dancing, bowling, and playing cards.

Survivors include her children, Cathy Best and Randy (Sandra) Boom; grandchildren, Aaron (Courtney) Best, Adam Best, and Heather (Dale) Schumann; great-grandchildren, Baily Best, Bodhi Best, Addy Schumann, Deacon Schumann, and Cassidy Schumann; step-grandchildren, Dr. Craig Nelson and Kim Martin; 5 step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
