Dorothy L. Covemaker

July 29, 1918 — December 3, 2013

Mrs. Covemaker passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at Rosewood Care Center in Moline.

Visitation Services will be on Saturday, December 7, 2013, from 2 to 4:30 p.m. with a Celebration of Life Service to begin at 4:30 p.m. at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline, IL. Cremation will take place following the services. Memorials may be made to the family.

Dorothy was born July 29, 1918 in Mascoutah, IL, the daughter of Henry and Louisa Stapf. She married William D. Covemaker, Sr. on December 16, 1939, in Moline.

Dorothy retired from Project Now in Rock Island. She previously worked at the Quad City Answering Service/Physician Exchange and in her earlier years was very active in the Rock Island County Democratic party serving as a Democratic Precinct Committee Woman. She was also a member in the Rock Island County Homebuilders Association hosting several Homebuilders' parties. She found enjoyment in all of the jobs she held but nothing gave her more joy than being with her kids and grandkids. In her eyes, they could do no wrong.

Many nieces and nephews, especially her devoted nephew, Gilbert Charles Stapf.

She was preceded in death by her sons, Richard and Roger, her parents, and seven siblings.

The family would like to Thank Dr. Bode and her staff and also the Staff and Families at Rosewood Care Center and Fort Armstrong Assisted Living Center for the extraordinary care and support they provided to our Mom/Grandma, we really do appreciate everything all of you have done for us.
