Dorothy M. Efflandt, 92, of Rock Island, IL, died Sunday, June 14, 2015, at Crestview Nursing and Rehab Center, West Branch, IA.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 18, 2015, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Moline Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Salem Lutheran Church or to Augustana Endowment.

Dorothy was born on November 22, 1922, in Moline, IL, the daughter of Olaf and Anna Pearson Larson. She was united in marriage to Harold B. Lindberg, of Rock Island, IL, on June 11, 1944, at First Lutheran Church in St. Paul, Minnesota, by Rev. Paul Lindberg, brother of the groom. He preceded her in death on April 7, 1981. She later married Lloyd Efflandt in 1986, and he preceded her in death in 2007. She was employed at the former Augustana Book Concern in Rock Island, IL, and later employed as an admitting clerk for Moline Public Hospital, beginning in 1968 and working until her retirement in 1986.

Dorothy attended Moline schools and graduated from Moline High School in 1941. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, where she formerly taught Sunday school and sang in the church choir. She was a member of Salem Evergreens, Blanche B. Wurbs Circle of Kings and a life member of the Illinois Branch of International Order of King's Daughters. She was a member of Augustana Endowment Society, American Scandinavian Association, QC Symphony Association, QC Garden Club, QC Botanical Foundation, Clara Lodge 118, Independent Order of Vikings in Moline, Christian Women's Club, and the Rock Island County Historical Society Auxiliary.

Survivors include her son, John (René) Lindberg, Iowa City, IA; 4 grandchildren, Jenna Marie (Ben) Maxson, West Branch, IA, Michael John (Michelle) Lindberg, North Liberty, IA, Daniel C. Lindberg, Iowa City, IA, and Alishia C. (Glen Lafrennie) Lindberg, Easton, PA; great grandchildren, Janaki and Elijah Lindberg, Iowa City, IA, Alexander and Zachary Maxson, West Branch, IA, Dean Lafrennie, Easton, PA; brother, Leon (Lois) Larson, Moline, IL, who have been lovingly dedicated to Dorothy; two nieces, Anita Mickelson and Julia Larson.
