Dorothy "Jean" Entler, 80, of Rock Island, IL, died Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at home.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2014, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2014, at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, Dorothy Jean asked that memorials be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center in Milan.
Dorothy was born on May 4, 1934, in Davenport, IA, the daughter of Hank and IdaVoorhis Hagen. She married Ronald J. Entler on September 3, 1960, in Rock Island, IL, and he preceded her in death in October of 1977. Dorothy worked in the Payroll Department for John Deere for 26 years, retiring in 1997. Prior to that, she worked in the office at Servus Rubber.
Dorothy enjoyed reading and watching movies - especially old westerns. She kept active playing shuffle board and shopping at yard sales and flea markets. Dorothy loved to dance and listen to country and fifties rock & roll music.
