Dorothy M. Onderbeke, 91, of Rock Island, IL, died Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Trinity Rock Island.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2012 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 14, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Trinity Pathway Hospice.
Dorothy was born on September 26, 1920 in Moline, IL, the daughter of Willard M. and Svea Marion (Johnson) Hauerwas. She married Raymond A. Onderbeke on May 10, 1941 in Davenport, Iowa. He preceded her in death on February 15, 1999. Dorothy worked as a janitor for the I.H. Farmall Plant for over 38 years. She was a member of Memorial Christian Church in Rock Island. She was a member of O.E.S. Chapter 165, Daughters of Mokanna, WOTM # 168, R.I. Moose, UAW Local 1309, and VFW Auxiliary 1303. She was a past member of M.C.O. of Zal-Caldron. Dorothy cooked for the Blind Center for about 8 years at the R.I. Evening Lions Club Auxiliary.
