Dorothy Jean Anderson Onderbeke, 82, of Moline, IL, died Monday, April 15, 2013, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA. Arrangements are pending at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 19, 2013, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline, IL. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2013, at the funeral home. Burial will be at National Cemetery at Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to Child Abuse Council of the Quad Cities, 400 16th Street, Rock Island, IL.
Dorothy was born on June 9, 1930, in Clinton, IA, the daughter of Wilbur and E. Lillian (Smith) Udy. She married Warren Anderson in Montesano, WA, on October 11, 1947. He preceded her in death on August 11, 1989. She later married Clarence Onderbeke on March 31, 2003, in Rock Island, IL. He preceded her in death on October 1, 2011. Dorothy attended Rock Island High School and worked as a dietitian for the East Moline State Hospital. She was an active part of the Home Extension group, "The Busy Bees" where she made quilts and crafts to donate to local hospitals and groups in the area. She loved quilting and crafts. Her family is always warmed with quilts that she made with love. For over 25 years, she was a faithful member of Hope Church in Le Claire, IA, and was a blessing to all those who attended. Above all, Dorothy especially loved her time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
