Dorothy M. Pierce, 97, of Moline, IL, died Wednesday, September 16, 2015.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, September 20, 2015, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, September 21, 2015, at National Cemetery at the Rock Island Arsenal. Those wishing to attend should meet at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. to leave at 9:30 a.m. Monday morning. Memorials may be made to Alleman High School or to the Salvation Army.
Dorothy was born on September 29, 1917, in Henry County, IA, the daughter of George A. and Hazel Hobbs McNeeley. She married Charles Pierce on May 31, 1941, in Memphis, MO, and he preceded her in death on September 27, 1993, in Rock Island, IL.
Dorothy worked as a cashier for Jewel-Osco. She enjoyed gardening and flowers. She loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her daughters, Sharon (Ed) Kelley, Lyndon, IL, and Diane (William) Stock, Moline, IL; grandchildren, Laura (Brett) Michna, Metamora, IL, Gina (Jared) Glassford, Moline, IL, and Taylor Kelley, Lyndon, IL; great grandchildren, Cole, Cade, Teague, and Charlotte; sisters, Lillian Phipps, CA, and Betty Micetic, Worth, IL; sister-in-law, Jean McNeeley, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Dixie Pierce; great granddaughter, Claire Glassford; 1 sister; 6 brothers.
