Dorothy H. Shewell, 89, of Moline, IL, died Monday, August 10, 2015, at home.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, August 14, 2015, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Per her wishes, there will be no visitation and private burial will be at National Cemetery at the Rock Island Arsenal.
Dorothy was born on May 30, 1926, in Oshkosh, WI, the daughter of Raymond and Juliana Arendacki Ader. She married Dale E. Shewell on July 5, 1946, in Oshkosh, WI, and he preceded her in death on February 19, 2014. She did clerical work for various companies.
Dorothy loved drawing and bird watching. She was very generous, giving to many charities. She especially loved spoiling her grandchildren.
Survivors include her son, Gary (Diana) Shewell, Coal Valley, IL; granddaughters, Ashley Shewell, Coal Valley, IL, and Danielle Shewell, Moline, IL; great grandson, Jackston Huber, Moline, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 5 brothers; 7 sisters.
