Dorothy M. Smiddy-VanDePutte, 79, of Moline, passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at River Crossing of Moline.

Cremation rites will be accorded. Burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Dorothy was born on March 23, 1943, in Moline, the daughter of Dale and Dorothy (Anderson) Smiddy. She married Ronald VanDePutte on December 28, 1962, in Moline. He preceded her in death on February 6, 2021. Dorothy worked at the Rock Island Arsenal. She enjoyed horseback riding and being around dogs whenever she could.

Survivors include her sons, Steven (Tammy) VanDePutte, Mike (Kris) VanDePutte; grandchildren, Kassidy Arp (Larry Kephart), Marc (Brittany) Stohl, Sean VanDePutte, Tyler (Mandee Wheeler) VanDePutte; great grandchildren, Hudson, Marissa, Aiden, Rylee, Lola, Actley, Hyson, Will, Grayson, and Roman; brothers & sisters-in-law, Dale & Cleo Smiddy, Dean & Sharon Smiddy, and Dennis & Barb Smiddy, George VanDePutte.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald VaDePutte, and daughter, Pam Arp.
