Dorothy Ann Stickler, 80, of Rock Island, died peacefully on January 24, 2014 at UnityPoint Health Rock Island.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at First Presbyterian Church, 777 25 Avenue, East Moline. Visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will be at Moline Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church.
Dorothy was born on August 25, 1933 in Clinton, Iowa. She was the daughter of Alvin H. and Lillian D. Hansen Frahm. She married Fred Stickler in Miles, Iowa on July 10, 1955.
Dorothy graduated from Iowa State University in 1955 with a bachelor's degree in Foods and Nutrition. She taught foods and nutrition laboratories while Fred obtained his Ph.D. Dorothy was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in East Moline for over 50 years where she served as an Elder, Deacon and a member of the prayer shawl ministry. She also took part in Project Linus making quilts for children in need. She loved working with her hands and enjoyed stained glass, pottery, ceramics, quilting, knitting and sewing. Above all her true love and focus was her family.
