Dorothy Wildman

Dorothy Wildman, 90, of Silvis, IL, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at her home at the Lighthouse of Silvis, IL.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 14, 2013, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline, IL. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at National Cemetery at Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made in her name to the First Baptist Church of Rock Island or the Alzheimer's Association.

Dorothy was born on September 18, 1922, in Rock Island, IL, the twin daughter of Jack and Gwenola (Connell) Kittilsen. She married Sylvan Raymond Wildman on September 18, 1946, in Rock Island, IL. Together they raised four daughters.

When she was young, she worked at Rock Island Family Welfare Association in Rock Island. She also worked at the Rock Island Public Library and the Rock Island Arsenal. Dorothy received her Associate Degree in Liberal Studies from Black Hawk College in the early 70s.

She was a life member of First Baptist Church in Rock Island and a member of the King's Daughters. She enjoyed sewing clothes for her children when they were young and crocheting a variety of items for all her loved ones. After retirement in 1986, she and her husband enjoyed 22 years at their summer home in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. In her later years, Dorothy loved to work on crossword and word search puzzles. Dorothy was the most kind, caring, and loving individual and always had a smile for everyone she met. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with all of them.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ray, and daughter, Janet Gifford.
