Dudley B. Trone

Dudley B. Trone, 78, of Moline passed away on Friday, October 27, 2023, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 3, 2023, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline.  A visitation will be from 10 – 11 a.m. at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at Moline Memorial Park where military honors will be conducted by the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 299.

Dudley was born on May 6, 1945, in Moline, Illinois, the son of Perry A. and Harriet A. (Howard) Trone.  He married Melody L. Karns on November 3, 1989, in Moline.

Dudley was a veteran of the United States Army having served in Vietnam where he received the Bronze Star with “V” Device.  He was then employed with MidAmerican Energy where he retired from the IT department.  Dudley was a member of the Cornerstone Christian Fellowship.  He was an outstanding all around athlete, he had a great sense of humor but above all he loved spending time with his family.

Dudley is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Melody; children; Kirsten (Kevin) Kirkbride and Terry (Brea Larson) Trone; grandchildren; Keelyandra (Austin Eastman) Kirkbride and Konnor Kirkbride; mother of his children, Sonja Trowbridge.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
