E. Lorraine Fredell, 97, of Orion, IL, died, surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at Hammond Henry Hospital, Geneseo, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1001 9th Street, Orion. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2015, at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd., 1301 4th Street, Orion, IL. Burial will be at Western Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Lorraine was born on February 4, 1918, in Humphreys, MO, the daughter of Floyd and Lillian Hamilton Parker. She married Twyller C. Fredell on May 19, 1940, in Trenton, MO, and he preceded her in death on June 4, 2003.
Lorraine was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Orion, where she belonged to WELCA, the Carnation Circle, and Friendly Stitchers. She was also a former Sunday school teacher and Circle leader. She enjoyed quilting both at home and at church. Lorraine enjoyed attending several card clubs and she loved to bake and cook big family meals. She was a kind, soft spoken, and loving person who will be missed by all.
Survivors include her son, Robert Fredell, Orion, IL; daughters, Kathleen (Jerry) Kurrle, Orion, IL, and Joyce (John) Pittman, East Moline, IL; 9 grandchildren; 8 step grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 7 step great grandchildren; 1 great great step grandchild; sister, Evelyn Ash, East Moline, IL; brother, Carl Parker, Trenton, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons, James and Dennis; grandson, John Ash; 2 brothers, Stanley and Dale Parker; sister, Leila Parker; daughter-in-law, Pat Fredell.
