E. Louise Green, 91, of Moline, Illinois, passed away on May 2, 2026 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, IA.
She was born on February 2, 1935, in Knox County (Galesburg), Illinois, to George and Edna Fields. Louise graduated from Alwood High School and earned an associate degree from Black Hawk College.
Louise worked as a mental health technician, homemaker, mother, study room monitor, and legal secretary.
She married William Green on August 1, 1954, in Rio, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Green; her parents, George and. Edna; two sisters, Patricia Ann Fields and Silver Christine Fields; and four brothers, W. Dale Fields, Michael Fields, Daryl Fields and Fred Fields.
Surviving family members include her sons: William L. Green (Jan) of Coal Valley, Illinois John M. Green (Penny, deceased) of Moline, Illinois and Marty Green (Kris) of Kalamazoo, Michigan; three grandchildren, Jenny (Kelby) Krueger, Benjamin Green, and Abagail Green (Lorenzo Robino), and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Ronald (Maureen) Fields and Candace (Loren) Swihart, along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Louise enjoyed crocheting, knitting, quilting, sewing items, reading, canning, gardening, fishing, bluegrass & Irish music, along with dancing. Most of all, she cherished being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She was a devoted member of Beulah Presbyterian Church, rural Orion, Illinois, where she served in many offices and on numerous committees within the Presbytery of Great Rivers. Louise deeply loved her family, cherished her grandmother Effie Mae Fields of Henderson, Illinois, and took great pride in her Midwest heritage.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday May 8, 2026, at Beulah Presbyterian Church, 9221 148th Avenue, Orion, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday May 7, 2026, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline, Illinois. The burial will follow the funeral at Homestead Cemetery in rural Orion, Illinois. Memorials may be made to Beulah Presbyterian Church.
