Earl A. Gift, 70, of Coal Valley, IL, died Monday, September 10, 2012 at Trinity Moline.
A Gathering will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Friday, September 14, 2012 at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl, Ltd., 1301 4th Street, Orion. Per his wishes cremation rites have been accorded. Burial of cremains will be at Beulah Rural Township Cemetery. Military Honors will be performed by the Orion American Legion Post # 255. Memorials may be made to Retreat & Refresh Stroke Camp.
Earl was born on December 28, 1941 in Franklin County, PA, the son of Charles Robert and Lola Mae (Burkholder) Gift. He married Becky Stevens on May 21, 1966 in Boise, ID and later married Dorothy Ann Wilson on September 3, 1976 in Pearland, TX. Earl worked as a Telephone Technician for the former Bell companies, AT&T, and Lucent Technologies. He retired from Lucent Technologies in 1991. Earl was a handyman, avid do-it-youselfer, and computer enthusiast who took great joy in helping others.
