Edward Arthur Schroeder, 89, of Garland, TX formerly of Rock Island died November 30, 2006 at Baylor Medical Center, in Garland, TX.
There will be a visitation from 12-1 p.m. on Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline with a graveside service to follow at 1:30 p.m. at National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. The procession will leave the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. to go to the cemetery.
Edward was born January 28, 1917 in Whiteside County, IL to Albert and Hattie Schroeder. He married Evelyn Jean Lempfert in Rock Island on December 7, 1944. She preceded him in death in 1987.
Edward worked for the Rock Island Arsenal for 20 years retiring in 1982. He was a longtime member of Moline Gospel Temple. He was currently a member of Temple Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed building and repairing pendulum clocks and pocket watches.
