Eleanor E. Gayman Lange, 93, of Orion, died on October 13, 2014 at Hammond Henry Hospital in Geneseo.
A funeral service will be 12:00 p.m. on Friday, October 17, 2014 at the Orion United Methodist Church 407 12 Avenue, Orion. Visitation will be from 10:00 - 12:00 at the church. A graveside will be at 2:30 on Friday at Moline Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Hillcrest Home Activity Fund.
Eleanor was born on February 15, 1921 in Moline to Robert and Anna Hallin Anderson. She married Ralph Gayman and he preceded her in death in 1974. She later married Albert Lange on May 22, 1976.
Eleanor was a graduate of Moline High School and went on to receive her Masters of Education from Marycrest College. She taught school at Briar Bluff School in Colona, George O Barr Elementary in Silvis and lastly at Grant Elementary in Rock Island. After retirement she continued tutoring children. Eleanor was a member of the Orion United Methodist Church and its Queen Esther Circle, Oak Glenn Auxiliary and the Orion American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of Henry County Senior Citizens. She was awarded the Studs Terkel Humanitarian Award for volunteerism in 2000.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert (Margaret) Anderson and Donald (Delores) Anderson and a great great grandchild, Eden Grace.
