Elizabeth A. Martin, age 87, of Moline, born May 20, 1927, beloved wife and mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.
Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., on Friday, December 26, 2014, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601-38th Avenue, Moline, IL. There will be a graveside service at Riverside Cemetery, Moline at 11:30 a.m. on the 26th. Memorials may be made to Hope Creek Care Center.
Elizabeth graduated from Moline High School and worked as a typist at the Rock Island arsenal. After her first husband Carl Congdon died, she moved, taking her two young sons to Oregon. Later she returned to Moline, meeting Glen Martin on the Moline Gospel Temple Sunday school bus. She shared more than fifty years of marriage with him. She loved the Lord, had a well-worn Bible, and taught Sunday school for 40 years there at the Moline Gospel Temple and later attended Cornerstone Christian Fellowship, Moline.
We rejoice and praise God for his love and faithfulness for a life - through Jesus, very well lived.
