Ellen East

Ellen East, 100, of East Moline, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at her home.

Visitation will be held from 1 until 2 p.m., Friday, July 16, 2021, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline.  Immediately following visitation, all will process to Rock Island Memorial Park for a graveside service.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Ellen was born on July 14, 1920, in Fort Worth, Texas, the daughter of Jesse and Mammie East.  She was active in the Cerebral Palsy Mississippi Valley Agency and attended the Cerebral Palsy Day Program and In Touch Day Program.  Ellen also participated in the special Olympics.  She enjoyed painting, always gifting her artwork to her family.

Survivors include her sisters, Ernestine Risk; nieces and nephews, Cindy (Roger) Mount, Cecilia Odell, Randy East, Loyd East Jr, Scott East, and Mellenie Bullard.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Sarah Heisler and Ola Walker; brothers, Loyd East, Dewey East, and James East; niece, Tammy Rodgers.
