Elmer L. Collins, 86, of Moline, IL, died Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2014, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.
Elmer was born on September 8, 1927, in Moline, IL, the son of Elmer L. and Mildred (France) Collins, Sr.
He graduated from Moline High School in 1945 and then from University of Illinois with a Mechanical Engineering Degree then followed that with his law degree in 1958. Elmer proudly served in the United States Army. He married Shirley Swanson on April 18, 1947, and she preceded him in death on November 29, 1988.
Elmer worked as patent attorney for Libbey-Owens-Ford Glass Co. He enjoyed reading, history, and car rides. He was a member of the Moline Exchange Club.

He was preceded in death by his wife and his sister.
