Elsie M. Johnson, 87, of Silvis, IL, died Thursday, November 26, 2015, at the Lighthouse at Silvis, Silvis, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 3, 2015, at First Lutheran Church, 1230 5th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 2, 2015, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Burial will be at National Cemetery at the Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church in Moline.
Elsie was born on October 23, 1928, in Fort Madison, IA, the daughter of Robert W. and Velma Heightman Mackie. She married Kenneth E. Johnson on September 11, 1948, in Moline, and he preceded her in death on March 10, 2002.
Elsie worked as an office manager and dental assistant in the dental office of Dr. Charles Ortman and later for Dr. John H. Hansen. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Moline.
Survivors include her daughter, Marsha (Carl) Nelson, Chanhassen, MN; son, Mark (Dawn) Johnson, Davenport, IA; grandchildren, Luke Nelson, Emily Rust, Jeffrey Nelson, Wendy Arnold, and Dan Johnson; 7 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
