Elsie L. Spohn

Elsie L Spohn, formerly of East Moline, passed away December 2, 2024, with her family in Lacey, WA.

Graveside services will be held at 1pm Wednesday May 21, 2025, at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Cremation rites have been accorded.

Elsie was born on November 24, 1930, in Miami, Oklahoma, the daughter of Roy H. and Ethel (Woods) Scoles. She married Marvin D. Spohn on July 8, 1950, in Miami, OK. Elsie retired from Augustana College after 30 years of service. She was a member of the Moline Gospel Temple, and enjoyed many years volunteering in the Sunday School Dept. She later attended New Life Fellowship. In 2021, after the passing of her husband, Elsie moved to Lacey, Washington to be near her son.

Survivors include her son Stephen (Nancy) Spohn, Olympia, WA, grandchildren Erik and Heidi Spohn, Snoqualmie, WA, brother Rex Scoles, Columbia, MO, and sister Joyce (Franklin) Conley, Waynesville, OH.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Darryl and LeRoy Scoles, and sisters: Ruth Spohn, Barbara Wimer, Doris Budy, Leona Moore, and Margaret Goodwin.
