Elwris "Mickie" Moran

Elwris "Mickie" Sylvia Moran, 93, of Moline, IL, died Wednesday, December 02, 2015, at Aspen Rehab & Health Care Center, Silvis, IL.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at Riverside Cemetery. Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mickie was born on March 11, 1922, in Kidder, SD, the daughter of Andrew F A and Hazel Jennie Rinard Masengarb. She married Ernest B. Marke on January 1, 1940, and later married Elroy F. Moran on October 29, 1962. She worked as a waitress for 10 years for Eagle Warehouse in Milan and later as a fruit picker for Nishi Farms in Stockton, CA, for 26 years, until 1980. She also volunteered for Project Now.
Mickie enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs. She also enjoyed birdwatching and crocheting. She especially loved cardinals and the color red. More than anything, Mickie loved being with family.
Survivors include her daughters, Donna J. Tompkins, Milan, IL, and Dorinda Haskins, Port Charlotte, FL; 8 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 17 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Judy; granddaughter, Tina; 3 sisters, Edwris Grossaint, Elvera Mekshes, and Eloris Thorpe; 4 brothers, Lyle, Robert, Demarol, and Lester Masengarb.
