Emiko "Amy" Holmquist

Emiko A. “Amy” Holmquist, 87, of Moline, passed away October 19, 2020, at Alexian Brothers Hospice Care, Elk Grove Village, IL.

No funeral services will be held at this time.  Visitation will be from 1-4 pm, Saturday, November 7, 2020, at Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd., Moline.  Burial will be at Rock Island Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to https://www.nami.org/Home .  In accordance with restrictions, attendees are expected to wear a face mask and observe social distancing.

Emiko was born on August 10, 1933, in Hilo, HI. She married Dean LeRoy Holmquist on August 29, 1959 in Moline.  He preceded her in death on November 17, 1986.  She loved cooking, baking, knitting, and when she was younger fishing.  Amy lived to help people.  Her job as an occupational therapist was truly her passion, being able to touch many lives was the reason she was loved by all who knew her.

Survivors include her son, David Holmquist; grandchildren, Trevor, and Trenton Holmquist; great grandchildren, Aiden and Owen McCash.

She was preceded in death by her husband, son, Bennett Holmquist, parents, and 8 siblings.
