Evelyn M. Washburn

Evelyn M. Washburn, 94, of Coal Valley, passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at Hillcrest Home, Geneseo.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be at Western Township Cemetery. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Orion is assisting the family.

Evelyn was born on November 24, 1927, in Moline, Illinois, the daughter of Arthur and Marie (Willhouse) Frank. After graduation, Evelyn worked as a telephone operator and for the Rock Island Arsenal. She married Donald F. Washburn on November 17, 1946, in Orion. He preceded her in death on May 29, 1994. Evelyn later worked for the former Orion Café. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Orion. She enjoyed playing cards, golfing and camping.  She also bowled for many years. Evelyn enjoyed spending the winters in Florida.

She is survived by her daughter, Janice Campbell, Coal Valley; son, James (Linda) Washburn, Coal Valley; grandchildren, Kelly Campbell, Orion, Bryan (Kimberly) Campbell, Coal Valley, Timothy (Kari) Washburn, Coal Valley, Toby Washburn, Long Grove, Iowa, Jaime (Ryan) Dyer, Bettendorf, and A.J. Washburn, Orion; and 15 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in in death by her parents, husband, and sister, Doris Larson.
