Francis Richard Davis, 80, of East Moline, IL, died Sunday, November 01, 2015, at Genesis Medical Center - Silvis Campus, Silvis, IL.

Family directed Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Hampton Grace United Methodist Church, 400 - 2nd Avenue, Hampton, IL. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time Saturday, at the church. Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials may be made to the Kidney Foundation.

Fran was born on April 25, 1935, in Cambridge, MA, the son of Earl Edward and Loretta LaForrest Davis. He married Elizabeth (Betsy) E. Sands on December 23, 1981 in Morning Sun, IA.

Fran was an Army Veteran. He worked in education for 40 years, serving as a fifth grade teacher, elementary principal, Director of Curriculum at SE IA AEA, and Superintendent of Schools at Morning Sun, Winfield- Mt. Union, Wapello, IA, and Colona, IL, retiring in 2003. He was an avid golfer, Iowa Hawkeye, and Boston Red Sox fan, and attended Hampton Grace United Methodist Church.

Mother-in-law, Barbara
3 sisters-in-law Jamie, Carla, and Judy
1 brother-in-law, Dan
Many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Bradford Jones; son, Nevin; 3 siblings, Victor, Delores, & Earl; Father-in-law, Dick; and brother-in-law, Danny.
