Franklin Neal Crockett, 92 of Green Cove Springs, Florida passed away Monday, May 26, 2025, at home with family.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday May 31, 2025, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Interment will be at Rose Lawn Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted. Memorials may be made to the American Association for Cancer Research or the Alzheimer’s Association.
Mr. Franklin was born February 19, 1933, in rural Primscot, Missouri to Neal & Shellie Crockett. He was U.S. Army Veteran, having served during and after the Korean War from 1953 to 1955. He married Barbara Purcell on September 5, 1970. She passed July 19, 2022. He worked and retired from John Deere Harvester and was a member of the UAW Local 865 in East Moline, IL. Franklin was a former member of Heritage Wesleyan Church in Rock Island and The Gathering Church in Moline. Most recently he attended Springs Chapel in Green Cove Springs, Florida. He loved fishing and took great pleasure in minding his garden and being able share the fruits of his labor with those he loved.
Survivors include his daughter, Vonda (Henry) Rangel, Moline and sons, Kenneth Crockett, Green Cove Springs, FL and Brian (Melissa) Crockett, Green Cove Springs, FL; granddaughter, Vanessa Lanay; grandsons, Eddie Crockett and Rico Rangel; great granddaughters, Isabella and Elliana; great grandsons, Giovanni and Dallas; sister, Jean Laferney, Tennessee; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and several siblings, Charles "Dave", Susie, Byron and Shellie.
