G William Seaman

May 28, 1930 — November 10, 2015

G. William "Bill" Seaman, 85, of Colona, IL, died Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at UnityPoint Health - Trinity Rock Island, Rock Island, IL, after a short and courageous battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 14, 2015, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Coal Valley Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established.

Bill was born on May 28, 1930, in Vernon County, WI, the son of Claude V. and Leah S. Bickel Seaman. He married Shirley Irene Miller on September 3, 1955, at First Congregational Church in Hillsboro, WI. He worked as an iron worker for the Iron Workers Local 111 in Rock Island, IL, where he was a lifetime member. Bill proudly served in the National Guard.

Bill attended Christ Church of the Quad Cities in Colona. He enjoyed dancing and watching high school sports. He was a true craftsman and loved working on houses. Bill especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors include his children, Bonita (Michael) Ullrich, Wickenburg, AZ, Vernon (Sarah) Seaman, Owasso, OK, Carl Seaman, Tallulah Falls, GA, Nancy (E. Kent) Pope, Williamsburg, IA, and Lee (Amanda) Seaman, Colona, IL; grandchildren, Sarah, David, Christa, Jason, Nathan, Benjamin, Daniel, Ashley, Jesse, Arielle, Katie, Will, Parker, Jonathan, Amanda, Rebecca, Ethan, Tyler and Katlyn; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Duane (Darlene) Seaman, Walker, IA, and Beulah Mae Seaman, Williamsburg, IA; many nieces and nephews; special friend, Virginia Nelson, Geneseo, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Shirley, and granddaughter Katie.
