Gary Edward Lenhart, 69, of East Moline, died Friday, January 28, 2011 at his residence.
Funeral service will be 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at Calvary Church of the Quad Cities, 4700 53rd Street, Moline. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M., Monday, January 31, 2011 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memorial Estate. Memorials may be made to Calvary Church of the Quad Cities.
Gary was born on March 1, 1941 in Moline to Kenneth and Etta Gerdes Lenhart. He married Elayne Valentine on January 25, 1964. Together they shared 47 years of marriage.
Gary received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois. He began his employment with John Deere Industrial Equipment, East Moline, on June 12, 1967. In June 1969 he transferred to the John Deere Foundry, East Moline. Gary joined Deere & Company Facility Engineering in June of 1992 where he retired on March 26, 2004 as a senior engineer after 36 years of service. Gary was an avid reader, an excellent craftsman and he enjoyed sailing his boat the Two Harts. He also enjoyed spending time traveling with his wife. Gary served the Lord through his church, Calvary Church of the Quad Cities, where he was an Elder, member of the choir, and Seasoned Saints ministry. Above all else his family was very important to him.
