George F.Moon, age 76, of Moline, died Saturday, February 28, 2009 at his home.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at Moline Church of Christ. Visitation is from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Burial is in Rose-Lawn Memorial Estate. Memorials may be made to Moline Church of Christ.
George was born June 12, 1932 in New Hope, AL., the son of David Walker and Ruth (Jenkins) Moon. He married Pauline L. Bevel on June 28, 1952 in Iuka, MS.
George attended school in New Hope, AL. He was employed at Frank Foundries for 25 years, retiring in June 1980 as a supervisor. George was a member of Moline Church of Christ. He enjoyed playing rook and horseshoes. George liked watching sports on TV, especially his favorite team, the St. Louis Cardinals. He especially loved playing with his grandchildren.
