George B. Nelson, Jr., 83, of Moline, IL, died Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at Heartland Health Care Center, Moline.
Graveside Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 2013, at Moline Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m., Friday, January 18, 2013, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Moline where he was a member or to the American Heart Association.
George was born on February 10, 1929, in Des Moines, IA, the son of George and Hattie (McGrath) Nelson. He married Beverly Brooks on June 17, 1949 in Des Moines. George worked as a commercial artist in the Advertising Department for Deere & Co. for 35 years, retiring in 1984.
