Gerald F. Hagstrom, 83, died at his home in Moline on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. Funeral services for Jerry will be on Wednesday, April 1, at 11 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, Moline, where he was a member. The service will be streamed on Facebook Live. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Following the burial at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, lunch will be enjoyed at QCCA Expo Center, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or the donor’s choice.
Jerry was born on October 25, 1942, in Moline, the son of Fred and Lillian (Johnson) Hagstrom. He graduated from Moline High School in 1960 and from Iowa State University in 1965. From 1966 to 1970, Jerry served honorably in the United States Air Force in Minot, North Dakota. On December 28, 1970, he married Carol Jean Peterson in Geneseo. She died in 2015.
For 30 years, Jerry was employed as a mechanical engineer at John Deere Harvester Works, East Moline. In retirement, he was a long-time volunteer at QCCA Expo Center. He was an avid fisherman, making many trips to Minnesota and Wisconsin with his boat, good friends, and many fishing rods. He was a member of the Quad City In-Fisherman Club and a loyal Chicago Bears fan.
Jerry is survived by his brother, Dennis (Pamela) Hagstrom; a niece, Kathryn Requejo; nephews Stephen (Connie) Hagstrom and Timothy Hagstrom; great-nephews Tristan Requejo and Bradley Hagstrom; great-nieces Alyssa Requejo and Zoey Hagstrom, all of Phoenix, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.
