Gerald D. Owens, 55, of East Moline, IL, died Monday, June 22, 2015, at home.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 25, 2015, at Moline Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, Gerald asked that donations be given to family. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Gerald was born on October 19, 1959, in Moline, IL, the son of Dennis W. and Evelyn L. Sonksen Owens. He was self-employed, working in the home care field. Gerald was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Moline. He had a green thumb and loved caring for plants.
Survivors include his mother, Evelyn Owens , East Moline, IL; 2 sisters, Linda (Chris) Hawker, Moline, IL, and Vyrel Ann (Kevin Carr) Owens-Carr, Rock Island, IL; brother, Chris W. Owens, Moline, IL; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
