Geraldine L. Sunlin, 94, of Moline, IL, died Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at Amber Ridge Assisted Living, Moline, IL.
Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A gathering will be held in the spring of 2016 so that she may be laid to rest beside her husband at Greenview Memorial Gardens. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Geraldine was born on January 30, 1921, the daughter of Lee and Clara Smidsang Olson. She was born and raised in Moline, where she was a lifelong resident of the 7th Avenue block. She married Richard C. Sunlin, Sr. on October 16, 1937, in Cedar Rapids, IA, and he preceded her in death on January 16, 1990. Geraldine worked as a clerk and bookkeeper for Larson Sun Mart Grocery in Moline. Later, she worked as a real estate sales agent for Weir Realty.
Geraldine was a member of Elim Covenant church in Moline. She was a one hundred percent unselfish woman. Her whole world revolved around her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Donna (Kenneth) McGinnis, Taylor Ridge, IL; sons, Donald (Cecile Annette) Sunlin, Springdale, AR, and Richard (Roxanne) Sunlin, Jr., Plano, TX; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Madeline Lumpkin, Forsyth, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Odin Olson; sister, Regina Pryble.
