Gloria Burke

Gloria Beth Burke, 94, of East Moline, passed away Friday, June 24, 2022, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, July 1, 2022, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, East Moline. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Thursday, June 30, 2022, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Burial will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church Food Pantry.

Gloria “Little Bird” was born on October 15, 1927, in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Hattie (Brown) Mattison. She married John W. Burke on June 11, 1948, at Riverside Methodist Church in Sioux City. He preceded her in death on January 13, 2000. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. She enjoyed golfing, bowling and volunteering at the races and at her church.  Gloria worked at Ametek in her younger years. She was a wonderful homemaker and especially loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include children, Greg Burke, East Moline, Terry (Anita) Burke, San Antonia, TX, Darwin (Barb) Burke, Aurora, CO, Doug (Sara) Burke, Huntersville, NC; grandchildren, Jeff Burke, Andy Burke, Sasha Larrew, Krista Berlin, Treasa Craig, Dalissa Grothe; 11 great grandchildren; and sisters, Dixie (Bill) Brogan, Edna Jo Elving.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Lucille, Gwen, Virginia; and brother, Don.
