Hans Lorenz Friedrichsen

Hans Lorenz Friedrichsen, 77, of Coal Valley, died on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 115 W. 12th Avenue, Milan, IL. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline, IL. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Moline.

Hans was born on February 26, 1938, in Engerheide, Germany, the son of Christian & Dorothea Petersen Friedrichsen. He married Nancy Louise Newberg on September 10, 1965 in Rock Island. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this September.

Hans immigrated to America and became a citizen on March 28, 1969. He worked for more than 30 years as a bricklayer, last working for Bob White Masonry. He was a member of BAC Local 6. Hans enjoyed bowling, golfing, and playing cards. He was a Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed traveling. He also was a blood donor for many years. He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Milan.
