Harold Dean Davidson, Sr.

Harold Dean Davidson, Sr., 78, of Moline, passed away, Friday, October 14, 2022, at home.

Funeral services will be held at 11am on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd, 6601 38th Ave, Moline, IL, 61265. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Harold was born on April 18, 1944, in Oakman, AL, the son of Gus and Vennie (Larson) Davidson. Harold graduated from Rock Island High School in1962. He then attended Black Hawk College and St Ambrose. Harold was a veteran having served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He married Carole Paul on June 12, 1969, in Moline. Harold was a Moline police officer Lieutenant from 1968-1996. He then worked as a sheriff deputy for Rock Island County. He enjoyed fishing, reading, and crossword puzzles. Harold was an avid Alabama, Cubs, and Bears fan. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Carole, Moline; sons, H. Dean Davidson, Jr., Alameda, CA, Scott (Heidi) Davidson, Tampa, FL; daughter Cherity (Paul) Machnick, Orland Park, IL; grandchildren, Canyon and Phoenix Davidson, and Rowan Machnick; and sister, Sue Waite; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Claude and Allen Patton.
