Harold Eber Roggendorf, Jr., 78, of Bettendorf, IA, died Thursday, December 18, 2014, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2014, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 1450 - 30th Avenue, East Moline, IL. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 22, 2014 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601-38th Avenue, Moline, IL. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or to the Family for an education fund to be established in his name. Pallbearers will Dave Sibigtroth, Dan Roggendorf, Kevin Roggendorf, Craig Roggendorf, Jeff Roggendorf, and John Roggendorf.

Harold was born on April 2, 1936, in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Harold Eber and Alice Iola Roggendorf. He married Brenda Hill Johnson on July 4, 1993 in East Moline, Illinois.

Harold enjoyed a 32 year career in Education Administration, retiring as Superintendent of Schools in the Carbon Cliff/Barstow School District. Harold's activities included Catfisih fishing in the Rock and Mississippi Rivers, playing machines on riverboats, playing cards, and especially spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings, Richard Roggendorf, Phyllis Shadle, Lorraine Hadesbeck, Viola Rothert.
