Harry Ackeberg

Harry Leroy Ackeberg, 90, of Silvis, passed away, Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at New Perspective Senior Living, Silvis.

Cremation rites will be accorded.  Inurnment will be at Prophetstown Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to First United Presbyterian Church, Moline.  Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory Ltd., Moline is assisting the family.

Harry was born on April 19, 1930, in Prophetstown, the son of Thure and Josephine (Gibson) Ackeberg.  He married Ina Flim on May 21, 1960, in Hollywood, CA.  Harry served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.  He was a member of First United Presbyterian Church, Moline.  Harry enjoyed playing racquetball at the YMCA in Moline, car rides in his red Miata, and gardening with his wife.  Harry especially enjoyed jogging with the family dog Sparky.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Ina, children, Julie (Jim) Quandt, Roseville, MN, John (Misti) Ackeberg, Bettendorf, IA; grandchildren, John Quandt, and Sydney (Anthony) Ohlendorf; great grandchildren, James and Elanor Ohlendorf.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Luella Froeliger, and Vera Castrey; brothers, Lester and Paul Ackeberg.
