Helen Eckhardt, age 94, of Edgington, died Friday, September 14, 2012 at the Mercer County Nursing Home in Aledo.
Visitation is from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 17, 2012 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Private graveside services will be held at the Edgington Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Helen was born on November 26, 1917 in Mercer County, IL, the daughter of Carroll T. and Sarah (Wray) Jones. She married Dale Eckhardt on October 15, 1937 in Clinton, IA. He preceded her in death on January 5, 1988.
Helen and her husband Dale owned and operated the former Eckhardt Bldg & Supply Co. in Edgington. She was a former member of the Andalusia Order of the Eastern Star. Helen was also a member of the Edgington Presbyterian Church.
