Howard E. Hoggard, of Moline, 80, died Saturday, December 13, 2014, at Genesis Senior Living, Aledo, IL.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601-38th Avenue, Moline, IL. A Masonic Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, at the funeral home, with a funeral service immediately following. Burial will be at Moline Memorial Park. Memorials may be given to Genesis Hospice.
Howard was born on February 20, 1934 in Strawberry, Arkansas, the son of Marlie and Lois Howard Hoggard. He married Velda Louise Whitmire on April 18, 1953, in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. She preceded him in death on November 19, 2003.
Howard was a welder at John Deer Harvester Works, retiring in 1989, after 30 years of service. He was a member of Moline Masonic Lodge 1014 and the Colona Hunting Lodge. He was an avid hunter, marksman, fisherman, and whittler. He enjoyed visits with friends and walking on Ben Butterworth Parkway and SouthPark Mall. Howard also collected firearms. He was a loving Grandfather.
