Jack Stephenson

Jack Stephenson, 94, of Moline, passed away, Thursday, June 24, 2021, at UnityPoint Health Trinity, Rock Island.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, July 23, 2021, at Rock Island National Cemetery.  Anyone wishing to attend should meet at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, at 10:15 a.m., Friday for procession to the cemetery.  Military honors will be conducted.  Memorials may be made to LST 325 (USS LST Ship Memorial Attn:Maintenance Fund 610 NW Riverside Drive Evansville, IN 47708).

Jack was born on September 9, 1926, in Harrisburg, IL, the son of Richard and Clara (Bayer) Stephenson.  He married Mary F. Owen on September 11, 1955, in Moline.  She preceded him on February 14, 2006.  Jack was a United States Navy Veteran serving in World War II and Korea from 1944-1952.  He worked as a supervisor for 30 years at Iowa-Illinois Gas & Electric Company.  Jack volunteered at LST 325 Navy Memorial Ship.  He also enjoyed camping, fishing, reading, and gardening.

Survivors include his daughters, Pamela (Peter) Lewis, MO, Kathy Stephenson, IL; son, David Stephenson, IN; grandchildren, Stefanie (Todd) Tritschler, Eric (Samantha) Stephenson, Sara Tang, Greg (Kyrea) Stephenson; great grandchildren, Peyton Tritschler, Kyler Tang, Ethan and Alyssa Stephenson; and niece, Michele Hall.

He was preceded in death by his wife, son, Russel Stephenson; sisters, Pearl Hall, and Jeanette Stephenson; and brothers, Dee and Lorraine Stephenson.
