Jacqueline E. Sterrett, 86, of East Moline, IL, formerly of Sun City, AZ, died Tuesday, June 02, 2015, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 6, 2015, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 5, 2015, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rock Island Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Honor Flight of the QC.
Jacqueline was born on October 27, 1928, in Davenport, IA, the daughter of Louis and Loretta Poell Moos. She married Theodore R. Sterrett on July 24, 1971, in Rock Island, IL, and he preceded her in death in January of 1976. She retired as a procurement clerk for the Mutual Readiness Command at the Rock Island Arsenal after 20 years, retiring in 1982.
Jacqueline was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Sun City, AZ, where she was an elder and a deacon. She enjoyed water exercise and reading. She also enjoyed making crafts and other retirement activities, especially needlework. While in Arizona, Jacqueline did volunteer work with Boswell Hospital as well as the Sun City Visitors Center. She very much enjoyed traveling. Jacqueline was also a member of First Presbyterian Church in East Moline.
Survivors include her daughters, Connie (Dale) Huizenga, Fenton, IL, and Gail Chapman, Roseland, FL; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law, Jim Chapman.
