James M. Beals

James M. Beals, 51, of Moline, passed away Friday, March 31, 2023.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Friday, April 7, 2023, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline.  Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted. Memorials may be made to the family.

James was born on November 13, 1971, in Davenport, the son of Marshall and Roberta “Bobbie” (Reinhold) Beals. He graduated from United Township High School and later from the US Military Academy at West Point. He was a U.S. Veteran, having served in the Army. James worked as Senior Technical Manager at US G for the last nine years. James grew up in Hampton, IL along the Mississippi River. He enjoyed boating, golfing and woodworking. James was previously active in politics in Moline. He ran for Illinois Senate in 2006.

Survivors include his mother; brother, Dan Beals, Colorado Springs; nephews, Dan Beals, Colorado Springs, Mark (Gemma) Beals, Hampton; niece, Nicole (Luke) Bankord, Belvidere; sister-in-law, Cheryl Beals, Hampton; great nieces, Ariana and Talia Beals; several great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Bill Beals; niece, Dana Beals.
