James Ellison

James B. Ellison, 86, of East Moline, died Friday. May 01, 2015, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA.

A family directed memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at First Presbyterian Church, 777 25th Avenue, East Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. at National Cemetery at the Rock Island Arsenal with military honors conducted by the Moline American Legion Post 246. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family with arrangements.

James was born October 8, 1928, in Coe Township, IL, the son of James and Mildred (Blair) Ellison. He married Patricia Cary on August 18, 1951. He later married E. Yvonne Engel on March 7, 1964, in Erie, IL, and she preceded him in death on July 29, 2004.

James worked in the clerical department at International Harvester for 28 years, retiring in 1983. He was a veteran, having proudly served in the United States Army Air Force. He loved to play bridge and was an American Contract Bridge League Life Master and Life Member.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; 2 sisters, Joyce and Ruth; 1 brother, Calvin.
