James A. Weimer, 94, of Geneseo, IL, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, July 18, 2025, at his home.
Family directed memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 15, 2025, at the Kingdom Hall, Geneseo. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to services on Friday at the Kingdom Hall. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd., Moline are assisting the family with arrangements.

James was born on February 26, 1931, in Geneseo, IL, the son of Harry and Moneta (Sand) Weimer. He married Geraldine “Gerry” in Geneseo on July 17, 1951, and were happily married for 74 years; James died the day after their anniversary celebration. James worked as a State Farm agent for 44 years before retiring in 2000. After retiring, James and Gerry spent around 15 winters in Florida together. He had been a faithful Jehovah’s Witness for nearly 70 years and was an Elder. James loved camping, traveling, gardening, planning trips, and especially spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Gerry Weimer; children, Katherine (James) Charlet, Todd (Twyla) Weimer, Jay (Linda) Weimer, April (Bill) Williams, Moneta (Joseph) Willemkens, Jill (Glenn) Carpenter; 21 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant, Regina Weimer; daughter, Heidi (Mark) Henson; 2 grandchildren; sister, Julie Hansen.
