Jane Irene Hill

Jane Irene Hill, 62, of Silvis, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2022, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 10, 2022, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline. Memorials may be made to Royal Ball Run for Autism.

Jane was born on February 15, 1960, in Moline, IL, the daughter of Clarence and Ruth (Magorian) Bjork. She married Jerry Hill on April 27, 2002, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in East Moline. She graduated from United Township High School, class of 1978. She went on to earn her teaching degree from Western Illinois University. She was the computer teacher in the Silvis School District for many years. Jane worked as a paraprofessional for Black Hawk Area Education Center, retiring in June of 2021, after 7 years. She was a coach for Relay for Life and the Special Olympics coach for seventeen years for the Silvis School District.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Hill, Silvis; son, Nick DeShane, Silvis; bonus kids, Jordan (Amber) Hill, Moline, and Katy Hill, Moline; grandson, Jeremy Hill; brothers, Jay Bjork, Joel (Stephanie) Bjork, East Moline, Matt Bell, Mt. Sterling, IA; several nieces and nephews and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

The family would like to thank all her doctors and caregivers during her courageous battle. Also, Jane enjoyed her time with the Livestrong Group.
