Janet L. Dailing

Janet L. Dailing, 88, of Davenport, formerly of Andalusia, passed away Tuesday January 9, 2024, at Allure of Quad Cities, Moline.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday January 11, 2024, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline.  The visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.  The burial will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Child Arise – Kenya Widows and Orphans Ministry. 

Janet was born on February 3, 1935, in Toulon, Illinois, the daughter of Marvin and Ellen (Oliver) Hixson. She married William J. Dailing on August 4, 1957, in Colona, Illinois. He preceded her in death on June 15, 2011.  She attended Geneseo High School and Augustana College. Throughout her life, she had various jobs including Village Clerk of Andalusia. Janet was involved in many choirs throughout her entire life. She loved singing for the Lord. She loved serving the Lord and being involved in many missions. Janet attended Calvary Church, Moline.

Survivors include her children, Dawn (Jeff) Brown, Carl (Donna) Dailing, Bonnie (Kevin) Herrick and Mic Dailing (deceased); daughter-in-law, Kami Dailing; grandchildren, Matt, Jim, Adam, Kelly, Cody, Emily, Alex, Michael, Mary, Sami, Joe; 23 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; sister, Jody (Chris) McClain; brother-in-law, Earle McBride; sister-in-law, Jackie Hixson.  

She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Michael “Mic” Dailing; siblings, Jim Hixson and Donna McBride.
